Who is Ready for $4-per-gallon Gas?

Perhaps you are ready to face the reality of paying $4 for a gallon of gas at the pump. But is your city?

According to a recent study, “Major US City Preparedness for an Oil Crisis,” localities that lack well established transit options for their residents will face significant challenges as gas prices soar. The study---written by Warren Karlenzig, president of the consulting firm Common Current, in San Anselmo, California---ranks the largest 50 American cities based on the transportation options they offer their residents.

Washington, D.C., comes in at number 4. Virginia Beach is near the bottom at 41.
